WHAT'S NEW
Newly Launched! Battery Sizing & Economic Modeling Calculator

enSights has launched a new battery sizing and economic modeling calculator specifically for the PJM ISO but generalizable to any region. PJM stands for Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland, which is the historical origin for the PJM Interconnection, the largest regional transmission organization (RTO) in the United States. It coordinates wholesale electricity, manages the high-voltage power grid, and runs competitive power markets across all or parts of 13 states and Washington, D.C
Battery projects can generate value through demand savings, capacity participation, arbitrage, and additional revenue streams. Different sites, tariffs, and operating profiles produce very different outcomes. Modeling matters. Developers, asset owners, and finance teams need an auditable framework before committing capital.
enSights combines battery sizing, revenue modeling, ROI analysis, and operational optimization within a single platform. What begins as a Battery Economics Assessment can extend into ongoing performance monitoring, dispatch optimization, executive reporting, and revenue realization through the enSights EMS.

NEW DEALS
Cherrytree Group Powers Igloo’s Katy Facility

The Cherrytree Group, an American clean-energy independent power producer, recently completed a new 4.67MW ground-mount solar array supporting Igloo's cooler manufacturing facility in Katy, Texas. Developed in partnership with CLS Sustainable, the project reinforces domestic clean-energy supply chains and strengthens the facility's energy resilience. It's a clear example of American IPPs and American manufacturers building homegrown clean energy infrastructure together.
Key Takeaways:
Completed a new 4.67MW ground-mount solar array at Igloo's Katy, TX manufacturing facility
Cherrytree Group financed and built the project as the clean-energy IPP, alongside partner CLS Sustainable
Supports Igloo's renewable energy program and broader "Made in the USA" clean manufacturing push
Pairs a US developer with a US manufacturer — a domestic clean-energy supply chain story
Key Metric: 4.67 MW ground-mount solar array

CEO Perspective: The Performance Gap in Modern Renewable Portfolios

A renewable portfolio can be fully online, green across every dashboard and still be losing money. Both statements can be true at the same time. That's the performance gap defining the next generation of renewable operations.
Modern portfolios rarely lose value because equipment fails outright. More often, revenue leaks through drifting performance, undetected equipment faults, underestimated curtailment, inefficient battery dispatch, fragmented data, and hundreds of operational decisions that never trigger a hard alarm.
The first era of renewable energy was about deployment. The next era will be about performance. The companies that lead over the next decade won't necessarily be the ones that build the most megawatts—they'll be the ones that extract the most value from every megawatt they already own. Through this newsletter, we'll share the trends, technologies, and operational insights shaping that transformation.
Key Takeaways:
Actionable Insight Over Uptime: Visibility has become the industry standard, but visibility alone is no longer enough. Competitive advantage comes from knowing what matters most, what to fix first, and how every operational decision impacts financial performance.
The Storage Paradigm Shift: Solar is primarily a monitoring challenge. Battery storage is an optimization challenge. As storage portfolios scale, success is increasingly measured by revenue, dispatch strategy, market participation, and operational efficiency, not simply system uptime.
Trusted Data Drives Better Decisions: Inconsistent KPIs, fragmented data sources, and opaque performance calculations continue to make it difficult for owners and operators to benchmark portfolios accurately and prioritize the highest-value opportunities.
From Monitoring to Management: Leading asset owners are moving beyond disconnected monitoring tools toward an integrated operating model, connecting technical performance, financial exposure, contractual obligations, and AI-driven decision support into a single system of action.
Strategic Market Signal: Storage Enters the 100-GW Era. According to BloombergNEF, the world deployed a record 112 GW of energy storage in 2025. That's a 48% increase over 2024. Annual storage deployments have grown from roughly 10 GW to more than 100 GW in just four years, making storage one of the fastest-scaling technologies in the history of the energy industry. As deployment accelerates, the competitive advantage is shifting from simply installing batteries to operating them intelligently.

PRODUCT UPDATES
Cleaner Data, Smarter Alerts

This quarter focused on strengthening the foundation of portfolio operations, improving data quality, simplifying alert management, and giving operators clearer visibility into both solar and storage performance.
Excel imports for historical data — Load historical production data directly into enSights to close gaps in your records. Complete history means accurate baselines, reliable year-over-year comparisons, and reporting you can stand behind.
Advanced alert management — Cut through alert noise so your team acts on what actually matters. Configurable thresholds and escalations put the right alert in front of the right person, and AI-driven root cause workflows tell you why it happened (not just that it did) so you resolve issues faster instead of triaging them.
AI-powered reporting — Automated executive summaries that translate performance into the language leadership cares about: revenue, impact, and outcomes. Every report answers "so what?" automatically with no analyst required to connect the dots between the data and the dollars.
Expanded integrations — New connections to Tesla Powerhub, SolaX, Itron, and Voltus bring more of your solar + storage assets into a single view. Manage a mixed-vendor portfolio without switching between systems. One platform, complete visibility, wherever your assets come from.
Coming soon - MCP (Model Control Platform) — Soon you won't wait on a report, you'll build it. Just describe what you want, and your AI assistant creates it from your live enSights data.
"Build me a weekly underperformance report for the whole portfolio." "Make a dashboard tracking battery degradation by site." "Alert me whenever generation drops below target." — done, in plain language.
Custom reports, dashboards, and automations you set up yourself, in minutes. No data team, no dev tickets, no waiting.
Your fleet data, finally working the way you want it to. More soon.
